Today marked a significant milestone for Ohio Lasers Fastpitch as we celebrated our inaugural Laser Day on August 27th, 2023, at Berliner Park. The event was a resounding success, bringing together our 22 teams for a day filled with camaraderie, skill-building, and invaluable insights into collegiate softball.

From the moment the first pitch was thrown, it was evident that Laser Day was more than just a gathering of players—it was a testament to the passion and dedication that defines our organization. Teams engaged in spirited scrimmages and clinics, honing their skills and fostering a sense of unity that will undoubtedly carry them through future challenges.

One of the highlights of the day was the opportunity for our players to learn from esteemed guest speakers, including former lasers Anna Kirk and Julia Miller. Anna, who has transitioned from playing at Ohio State to coaching at Capital University, shared her experiences and wisdom on navigating the recruitment process and excelling at the collegiate level. Julia, a standout pitcher at Ohio State, provided invaluable insights into the demands of collegiate softball and the keys to success both on and off the field.

Additionally, we were privileged to welcome McKenzie Bump and Kennedy Kay, former lasers who are now proudly representing the Buckeyes. Their presence not only inspired our younger teams but also served as a reminder of the enduring legacy of Ohio Lasers Fastpitch and the opportunities that lie ahead for our players.

As the day unfolded, it was evident that Laser Day had far exceeded our expectations. Not only did our teams showcase their skills and tenacity on the field, but they also forged lasting bonds and gained invaluable insights into the world of collegiate softball. Whether they were diving for a catch, cheering on their teammates, or engaging in conversations with our guest speakers, each moment was a testament to the spirit of Laser Nation.

Looking ahead, we are excited to build upon the success of Laser Day and continue to provide our players with opportunities for growth, development, and connection. With 30 years of excellence behind us, we are more committed than ever to shaping the future of Ohio softball and empowering the next generation of athletes.

To all who contributed to the success of Laser Day—our players, coaches, guest speakers, sponsors and supporters—thank you for your unwavering dedication and enthusiasm. Together, we are blazing a trail of excellence, and the best is yet to come.
